ANDREA R. WEISMAN Psy. D.

Licensed Clinical Psychologist

My starting point in therapy is that no topic cannot be discussed. I believe that all problems/issues can be addressed and improved, and that therapy can be effectively utilized for enhancing decision-making and life transitions. I consider myself a partner in the therapeutic process. I am a listener, a coach, and an accountability partner. I see it as my role to create a safe space in which you can explore and learn to love your story.

My clinical practice is firmly rooted in evidence-based practices, and I see great value in thinking outside the box. I have a passion for working with individuals who are living with cancer and exploring end-of-life issues. I also specialize in working with individuals and couples with relationship discord and healing after infidelity. I believe in a holistic view and see immense value in understanding and treating the whole person: mind, body, and spirit.

My approach to therapy is person-centered and reality theory-based. I believe all behavior is meaningful. In treatment, I often focus on increasing communication, exploring, and utilizing strengths and resources while eliminating thoughts, feelings, or behaviors (CBT) that do not bring the client where they wish to be. I enjoy working with individuals, couples, and families, including Queer, LGBT, and gender exploring.

Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from Florida Institute of Technology, Licensed Clinical Psychologist in Virginia. M.S. in Psychology from Florida Institute of Technology and M.A. in Mental Health Counseling from Rollins College. Top Doc winner 2017 and 2018, Richmond Magazine. Founder of Tikvah Collaborative Practices.

I am currently offering telepsychology only.

JAIMEE L. JONES, Ph.D, MA

Resident in Counseling

Carl Rogers once said, “The good life is a process, not a state of being.  It is a direction, not a destination.”  I believe therapy helps you navigate in the direction of a good life.  Therapy should be where you can come as you are: a judgment-free zone and safe space to traverse life’s challenges.  I plan to walk beside you in the therapeutic process while allowing you to travel in any direction you choose.  I listen, encourage, empower, and challenge you to become your best self.  Throughout your self-discovery journey, I hope you can make peace with your past, be passionate about the present, and have hope for the future.

My theoretical framework is person-centered, CBT, and solution-focused.  I meet people where they are and strive to empower individuals to overcome obstacles, embrace their identity, and achieve their full potential. I incorporate less conventional therapeutic approaches to evidence-based practices and provide a personalized approach to healing and inner exploration.  I am passionate about working with women of color, dealing with race-related stress, and building self-confidence.  The focus of my practice is providing a safe and supportive space for clients to explore their experiences, develop coping strategies, and foster personal growth that manages anxiety, depression, and trauma.

PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision from Hampton University, MA in Clinical Mental Health, and BA in Psychology from South University. AAS in Medical Assisting from Medical Careers Institute. Certified Medical Assistant.
